JAMMU/SRINAGAR/LEH, Feb 5: One person died and 66 tested positive for COVID-19 while 63 others recovered from the virus in Jammu and Kashmir today.
In Jammu region, 15 persons tested positive for Coronavirus including nine in Jammu district, two each Udhampur and Kathua and one each in Rajouri and Poonch districts. No fresh cases were reported from rest of the districts.
Seventeen persons recovered from the virus-10 in Jammu district, six Poonch and one in Reasi district.
Jammu region now has 51622 Corona cases. Among them, only 127 are active positives as 50733 have recovered from the virus and there have been 722 casualties in the region.
Meanwhile, Kashmir recorded one more death due to COVID-19 taking the death toll in Jammu and Kashmir to 1,944 while 51 positive cases were reported.
With today’s death, the fatality count has reached 1222 in Valley.
Srinagar district with 459 deaths topped the list followed by Baramulla 174, Budgam 118, Kupwara 96, Pulwama 88, Anantnag 86, Bandipora 61, Kulgam 54, Ganderbal 46 and Shopian 40.
Those who tested positive in Kashmir today include 25 from Srinagar, 1 Baramulla, 8 Budgam, 5 Pulwama, 1 Kupwara, 6 Anantnag, 1 Bandipora, 3 Ganderbal and 1 from Kulgam.
The number of cases in Kashmir division has reached 73,163 including 71,414 recoveries and 1,222 deaths.
The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 654 including 527 from Kashmir division.
With 63 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 122,187 which is 97.83 percent of the total cases.
Meanwhile, the UT of Ladakh today reported three new Corona positive cases including two in Leh and one in Kargil district.
