One-day-old militant, 3 OGWs held

SOPORE, Mar 14 : Security forces today arrested a militant during an ongoing cordon-and-search operation at Bulgam area of Sopore in North Kashmir.
A police officer told  that acting on a specific information, a joint team of Army’s 52 RR, CRPF and SOG launched a search operation at Bulgam village today evening.
While conducting searches in the village, the security forces apprehended one militant namely Danish Ahmad Kakroo who hails from Chesti Colony Old town Baramulla, the officer said. “Initial probe suggests that he had joined militant ranks only today morning”.
He said that searches are underway to trace out another militant from South Kashmir.
Meanwhile, security forces today arrested two Over Ground Workers (OGWs) of militants from Handwara area of Kupwara district and recovered arms and ammunition from their possession.
Working on a tip of about movement of the OGWs of militants in the area, Handwara police along with 30 RR of Army and 92 Batallion of CRPF laid a surprise check point at Pantha Chowk in Kralgund.
During surprise checking of the vehicles and pedestrians, two suspicious persons on seeing the check point tried to escape from the spot but chased and apprehended by the security forces.
The detained persons were identified as Nazir Ahmed Wani son of Abdul Khaliq and Bashir Ahmed Wani son of Mohammad Afzal residents of Sheikhpora Tarathpora, Vilgam in district Kupwara. During the searches a bag was recovered and during search of the bag one AK 74, 3 magazines, 147 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition, one Chinese pistol, 3 pistol magazines, 24 Chinese pistol rounds and one UBGL wer seized.
A case (FIR No 16/2020 U/S 7/25 Indian Arms Act, 13, 18 ,20 UA(P) Act) was registered in Police Station Kralgund and investigation has been taken up.
Security forces this evening arrested an OGW of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) from Kulgam district in South Kashmir. He has been identified as Parvaiz Ahmad Mattoo son of Manzoor Ahmad Mattoo of Khudwani. Sources said that some cash was recovered from his possession.

Police said that acting on a specific information, a joint team of Army, CRPF and SOG launched a search operation at Bulgam village this evening.
While conducting searches in the village, security forces apprehended one youth who hails from neighbouring Baramulla. Initial probe suggests that he was planning to join militant ranks.
Police said that searches are under way to trace out another youth believed to be a militant from south Kashmir.
In the meantime, two youth have gone missing from Pulwama district of South Kashmir. They have been identified as Tariq Ahmad of Pulwama and Asif Majeed Dar of Kakpora.
