One COVID death, 79 cases in Kashmir; 32 in Jammu

8 test +ve in Ladakh

JAMMU/SRINAGAR/LEH, Dec 27: One person died of COVID-19 and 79 tested positive in Kashmir division today while 32 cases were registered in Jammu region and eight in the Union Territory of Ladakh.
Among 32 cases in Jammu region, 21 were recorded in Jammu district, three each in Doda and Poonch, two in Udhampur and one each in Rajouri, Kathua and Kishtwar districts.
Rest of the districts didn’t report any fresh cases.
As against 32 cases, 43 recovered from the virus.
Jammu region’s Corona count now stood at 1,26,074. Of them, 1,23,533 have recovered from the virus while there have been 2197 casualties and 344 active positive cases.
Meanwhile, DC Jammu Anshul Garg today declared Lane near Kwality Bakery at Canal Road as micro Containment Zone.
All eight COVID positive cases in the Union Territory of Ladakh were reported from Leh district.
Ladakh now has 22091 Coronavirus cases, Among them, 21664 have recovered while there were 218 casualties—160 in Leh and 58 in Kargil.
The UT has 209 active positive cases including 144 in Leh district and 65 in Kargil district.
Meanwhile, Kashmir today reported 79 fresh cases of COVID-19.
Those who tested positive include 38 from Srinagar, 19 from Baramulla, 5 from Budgam, 2 from Pulwama, 3 from Kupwara, 2 from Bandipora, 9 from Ganderbal and 1 from Kulgam.
As per officials figures, 78,639 positive cases including 882 deaths and 77,293 recoveries are from Srinagar, 25,945 including 290 deaths and 25,484 recoveries are from Baramulla, 24,471 including 24,208 recoveries and 216 deaths are from Budgam, 15,708 including 15,479 recoveries and 195 deaths are from Pulwama, 14,956 including 167 deaths and 14,718 recoveries are from Kupwara, 16,731 including 16,503 recoveries and 208 deaths are from Anantnag, 10,164 cases including 9,998 and 111 deaths are from Bandipora, 10,980 including 10,783 recoveries and 82 deaths are from Ganderbal, 11,547 including 11,420 recoveries and 117 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,618 including 5,557 recoveries and 59 deaths are from Shopian.
The number of cases in Kashmir division has reached 214,759 including 211,443 recoveries and 2,327 deaths.
The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,333 including 989 from Kashmir division.
With 127 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 334,976 which is 98.28 percent of the total cases.
