JAMMU, Sept 30: A youth allegedly committed suicide while a young girl made an abortive attempt on her life by consuming some poisonous substances at their respective residences in Akhnoor area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, the youth identified as Lokesh Kumar (30) son of Sheshpal, resident of Brui (Akhnoor), yesterday committed suicide at his residence following which he was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where he expired late in the night. Today after completing all medico-legal formalities his body was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites.
Meanwhile, a young girl namely Anjali (18) daughter of Rattan Lal, resident of Sohal (Akhnoor), allegedly made a vain attempt on her life at her residence this evening. She was shifted to GMCH Jammu for treatment.
In both cases, the concerned police had taken cognizance of the matter.
