One arrested; gold biscuits, ornaments recovered

SAMBA, May 8: Ghagwal Police today arrested a person from a Sleeper Coach named Cool Cool Travels which was on its way from Delhi to Jammu for smuggling gold and recovered one kg of gold biscuits and some ornaments from his possession.
According to a report, a police team led by Inspector Sauraj Pathania, SHO Police Station Ghagwal acting on a specific input, laid a naka at Ghagwal. During the checking Police recovered one bag with gold biscuits weighing 1 kg from his possession along with other gold ornaments worth about 40 lac.
The person was identified as Bodh Raj, Son of Chajju Ram resident of R.S Pura Jammu. The case pertains to evasion of taxes. The gold was handed over to the Commercial Taxation Officers Lakhanpur for penalty.
