SAMBA, Apr 28: Police has arrested one person for illicit hoarding and sale of diesel in Sarthi Khurd area falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Ghagwal, district Samba and seized around 200 litres of illicit diesel.
Official said acting on a tip off, a police party of Police Post (PP) Rajpura headed by Incharge Rajpura apprehended the accused person red-handed from Sarthi Khurd area who was indulged in illegally storing and selling of diesel oil in the area. Police has seized 200 litres of diesel oil stored in barrels on the spot from his possession.
The arrested person has been identified as Jagdish Singh son of Gian Singh of Sarthi Khurd tehsil Rajpura district Samba, official said.
A case FIR No. 57/2024 U/S 3/7 Essential Commodities Act has been registered at Police Station Ghagwal and investigation is underway.
