RAJOURI, Apr 29: The police claimed to have arrested one person in connection with dishonouring of National Flag at Nowshera town.
Addl SP Nowshera, Amit Verma said that pm on Wednesday evening, an information pertaining to dishonouring of National flag was received wherein it was reported that a National Flag was hoisted on the building of Sub District Hospital Nowshera, where some unknown miscreant dishonoured the flag.
Soon after receiving information, a team of police from Nowshera Police Station rushed to the spot and examined the site.
A case FIR 68/2022 under section 2 – Prevention of Insult to National Honour Act was registered in PS Nowshera and investigation set into motion.
Special investigation team was constituted under SDPO Nowshera assisted by SHO Nowshera.
During investigation few material witnesses were identified and their statements were recorded. The circumstantial evidences were gathered and found corroborative with facts revealed by material witnesses. Based on the investigation one accused has been arrested. He has been identified as Koushal Kumar, son of Romesh Chander, resident of Ward No. 7. He is said to be of unsound mind. Further investigation was in progress.
