KATHUA, Sept 17 : Acting tough against the trade of illicit liquor in the district, Kathua police seized five litres of illicit liquor and arrested one person in this connection.
Police said a team led by Inspector, Om Parkash Chib, SHO PS Kathua under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Kathua, Shammi Kumar during special checking duty in its jurisdictional area apprehended one person. During checking, five litres of illicit liquor was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Krishan Kumar, son of BansiLal of Chack Drab Khan, Kathua. Police said he was involved in the trade of illicit liquor in Chack Drab Khan to get illegitimate profit. All the recovered consignment of illicit liquor was seized by the police team and one person was arrested. In this regard, a case vide FIR No. 415/2021 U/S 48(a) Excise Act stands registered at PS Kathua and further investigation started.
