Omar lays foundation of Tehsil Office

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah laying foundation stone of Tehsil Office building at Lar on Thursday.

LAR (GANDERBAL), May 16:- Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah today laid foundation of Tehsil Office building at Lar likely to cost an amount of about Rs. 1.29 crore of this, Rs 20 lakh stand already released for launch of construction work.
Tehsil Office Lar is presently functioning in Panchayat Ghar and there was long demand of locals for construction of a separate office building for Tehsil Lar comprising of one Nayabat, 10 Patwar Halqas and 42 Revenue Villages.
A chunk of land measuring 2 kanals and 6 marlas has been acquired for construction of Tehsil Office building for an amount of Rs. 46 lakh on by-pass road side which is easily accessible and convenient to people.
Omar Abdullah directed the construction agency and District Administration to fast track the work and complete it in a time bound manner.
Minister for Forests, Mian Altaf Ahmad and Minister of State for Revenue, Ajaz Ahmad Khan were present on the occasion besides District Development Commissioner, Sarmad Hafeez and other officers.
It was stated that work on other revenue infrastructure buildings which include Nayabat Office at Palang Kangan, Revenue Inspection Hut at Sonamarg and Patwarkhana at Manasbal are under construction.
The Mini-Secretariat complex has been constructed at a cost of Rs. 22.77 crore, the 200 bedded District Hospital Ganderbal is under construction at a cost of Rs. 52.56 crore, Physical Education College at Gadoora is being built at an estimated cost of Rs. 31 crore and work on Polytechnic College at Hatbara is under execution for which Rs. 1.50 crore have been released.
The Art Conference-cum-Seminar Hall involving Rs. 3.15 crore is nearing completion while Degree College at Kangan and 93 MW New Ganderbal Power House are also coming up in the area.
Widening of Nagbal-Behama-Wayil road is proposed to be taken up by R&B for construction. Blood Bank facility is also coming up in the district while as milk processing plant at Tulmulla has been sanctioned besides development of six new playgrounds.
A Fisheries Feed Mill has been completed at Manasbal at an estimated cost of Rs. 1.71 crore while as Fire and Emergency Services Command at Dodarhama has been completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 89 lakh. The flagship programmes like SSA, PMGSY, RMSA, MGNREGA and NRUM are in full swing in the district.
