Srinagar, Sept 22: Leader of Opposition (LoP) Sunil Sharma today termed the Omar-led Government a “failure,” alleging that the Chief Minister is attempting to build a “narrative” by claiming he lacks power.

Speaking to reporters after visiting an exhibition on the life and journey of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sharma said the CM exercises full authority when it comes to transfers of officers but claims to be powerless when it comes to delivering on the ground.
“Omar has decided to set a narrative. He makes transfers, gives explanations behind them, but when it comes to real work, he says he has no power,” Sharma remarked.
He further alleged that the Government has failed and is misleading the public by suggesting it lacks authority.
“They have no concern for the people. Development is a competition now in the country due to the BJP-led Central Government, and to escape responsibility, they are spreading lies, which is unfortunate,” he added.
On the issue of compensation for flood-affected families in J&K, Sharma assured that the Central Government will ensure relief.
“The Government will compensate farmers, though the exact amount will be known after a decision is taken about it,” he said.
Speaking about the life of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sharma described it as one of “struggles and inspiration.”
He noted that the PM, once a tea-seller from a poor family, rose to become the Prime Minister of the world’s largest democracy.
“He has made the country proud, and the world has acknowledged his work,” Sharma said.
The exhibition, he added, showcased how a man from humble beginnings turned his personal dream into the nation’s dream, working tirelessly for the country’s progress, an example, he said, that serves as inspiration for the world.
“Prime Minister Modi’s life story is a message of hope and perseverance. It tells us that with determination and honesty, anyone can rise above challenges to serve society in the highest capacity,” he said.
