JAMMU, Feb 3: By skipping the “Beating the Retreat” ceremony, Omar Abdullah as a Chief Minister has failed the spirit of democracy, the Constitution of India and the 148 crore people of India.
This was stated today by BJP leader Dr Abhijeet Singh Jasrotia while addressing media persons in a press conference at party headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu. He was accompanied by Dr Pardeep Mahotra, state media secretary and Dr Parneesh Mahajan, incharge of training department.
“This is for the first time in history that the Ministers from the CM’s cabinet including the CM himself have missed the ceremony which marks the celebration of our “Vibrant Democracy.” The CM should acknowledge the fact that he is CM because of the Constitution of India and should not make a mistake to miss the day being celebrated to mark the adoption of the Constitution by the Republic of India.,” said Dr Abhijeet.
He said that the CM’s cabinet has insulted the Constitution and the Constitution makers, and all those who laid down their lives to make India a republic during the long freedom struggle. He said that the INDI Gathbandhan who are often seen carrying Constitution copies on their heads do not actually have any respect for it.
Dr Jasrotia questioned Omar Abdullah whether he is toeing the lie of Akbar Lone and is getting ready to chant ‘Pak zindabad.’ “The CM is still living in Parivar-Tantra instead of Gana-Tantra, as he plainly ignores all the invitations from the officials of Government to attend the ceremony to mark the celebration of Gana-Tantra,” said Jasrotia.
Omar Abdullah has played with the emotions of 148 crore people of India, said Jasrotia and asked the CM to answer whether he and his council of Ministers have deliberately skipped the celebration of democracy.
