SAMBA, Nov 16: An old rusted mortar shell has been found in the fields of a farmer in Chachwal village in Samba district last night.
Police said, Parshottam Singh, son of Chamel Singh of border village Chachwal found a rusted old mortar shell in the fields at around 8:00 pm last night. He informed the police post in-charge Rajpura. Later the police rushed to the spot and took the shell in their possession.
Police and Bomb Disposal Squad of the Border Security Force (BSF) destroyed the mortar shell and averted the tragedy.
