POONCH, May 12: A notorious over ground worker (OGW)/ drug-peddler was detained under Public Safety Act (PSA) in district Poonch today.
He has ben identified by police as Nizam Din, son of Gulab Din, a resident of village, Bagyaldara in Tehsil- Haveli of district Poonch. He has been booked under Public Safety Act by the order of Deputy Commissioner Poonch. Various FIRs were already registered against him under NDPS Act and other sections of law.
The accused was indulging in anti- national activities and was working as active guide/ facilitator for terrorist organisations and actively involved in providing logistics support to the terrorist outfit.
Keeping in view the activities of accused as he poses threat to the security of the state and under these circumstances he was ordered to be detained under Public Safety Act.
In compliance with the directions by Deputy Commissioner, Poonch, the detention warrant was executed and the said accused sent to District Jail Poonch under Public Safety Act.
