SRINAGAR, Mar 4: Police and Army today arrested an Over Ground Worker (OGW) of Hizbul Mujahideen from Pattan area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district and recovered a Self Loading Rifle (SLR) from him.
The Special Operations Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir Police, Pattan, and Army’s 29 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) today launched a joint operation on a specific information and arrested a person Bashir Ahmed Dar alias Bitta son of Mohammad Maqbool Dar resident of Bungam Kunzer in district Baramulla.
Bashir is OGW of Hizbul Mujahideen and one SLR and 21 rounds were recovered from the orchards of Cheksari Yall Pattan where he had concealed them.
Police have registered a case (FIR 39/2016 Under Indian Arms Act) and are investigating it.
