Officers, jawans contribute for martyred SPOs

SRINAGAR, May 16: Showing their solidarity with the SPOs, who attained martyrdom at Hygam Sopore, officers and jawans of Baramulla range raised Rs 4, 67,860 from their salaries and handed over the amount to the bereaved families.
Deputy Inspector General of Police (North), J P Singh along with SP Baramulla, Zubair Ahmad Khan and SP Sopore Imtiyaz Hussain visited the families and handed over the cheques to them.
Besides consoling the families, the officers conveyed the messages of DGP J&K Ashok Prasad and IGP Kashmir Abdul Ghani Mir that the whole force was indebted to these martyrs and their families who made the supreme sacrifice of their lives for the pious and noble cause for the safety and integrity of the country.
Mehmooda Begum, wife of the deceased SPO Gulshan Ahmad Bhat, resident of Pathla Kanispora, Baramulla and Ghulam Mohammad Parray, father of late SPO Mudasir Ahmad Parray of Dungdara Kreeri, were handed over the cheques by the DIG.
SPO Tanveer Ahmad Pathan of District Baramulla resident of Kalaiban Baramulla, who had sustained grievous injuries during a law and order problem, was given a cheque of an amount of Rs 47,860 (forty seven thousand eight hundred sixty) out of the contributions to help him for his medical treatment.
