JAMMU, July 27: The retired school education officers in a meeting here today stressed on promoting the in service officers of the department to the higher posts in Education Department.
The meeting, which was chaired by former president of Plus Two Lecturers Forum, H D Qureshi urged the Government to make it compulsory that the officers within Education Department are promoted to the post of Director School Education in view of their varied background in the field of education as they are well versed with the school syllabus, students and teachers problems and can work in creating a healthy atmosphere in the educational institutions.
The meeting expressed its satisfaction over the appointment of H R Pakhroo an officer from Education Department as new Director of School Education, Jammu and said that it has been a long standing demand of school education officers.
Terming it a good and timely step he said it will boost the morale of the education officers, Mr Qureshi appealed the teachers organizations to stand like a rock and expose the elements raising their ugly head against the appointment of Mr Pakhroo as Director.
He said the Chief Minister as well as Deputy Chief Minister have taken a historic step this way and also accepted a long standing demand of the teaching community.
