Tring tring rings the bell !you pick up and the harassed voice on the other side is of my friend!
Hey! is the light there in your house?
Oh! no i answer tired and even more vexed for this went on and
on the whole day !
There is no respite from the sweltering heat and phone rings again ! This time it is the next door neighbor verging on tears asking me when is light coming ??…funny is not it how do i know when will it come? yet feeling sympathetic i tried to soothe her although,i my self was completely drenched in prickling sweat !God what humidity? How efficient are our services,Call them and pat comes the reply ! Don’t worry madam it will come within minutes ! Surprise ! It came and i whispered umpteen blessing to him but just as soon it went away ! Friends ! You can well imagine the aftermath of my mood!!
The bell rang again i was ready to burst out with frustration but this time the the voice on the other side was-lilting with joy!! oh thank god ! Our light has come ! My heart sank and i heaved hard … She heard my sigh and understood that she was in better luck this moment !She offered magnanimously … Why don’t You come over to my house??I took the offer and within minutes Reached at her place ! Guess what happened ?no sooner i reached there it became pitch dark. Hahaha ! What climax ??
She was standing with a torch in hand,her eyes red hot ambers! She burst out in terrible fury! What does 24into7 mean?Only on 15 th Aug. our depty.chief minister promised us round the clock un-interrupted electric supply! I smirked and said now you must know that we keep hearing these lines all the time! Our worthy leaders keep using rich words for poor practice! Now! Off with frustration and let us celebrate his promise for what it was over a candle light supper -never mind the mosquitos!! We chatted and analyzed that it was not only electricity but all other essential services were just as problematic!!
We the common indians spend all ours precious time struggling with the nitty-gritty of life! Where’s the time for creativity,for achievements or for taking progressive steps??
This is our india–Gandhi’s great india,also of those great men who sacrificed and laid their lives to re-crown india as sone-ki-chirhia have instead left behind generations of so called great men and care takers for the country who very faithfully to themselves are making their own crown sone- ki- chiria!!! Who Will tell me it is funny??
A word of praise where it must go ! There is a note worthy improvement in the services of municipality they have devised atoll-free-number which can be got through quickly without their asking any futile details from you! Quick action is then taken!
