Developments in the world are taking place at a very rapid speed consequent upon the technology advancement . Many underdeveloped countries like India are also in the race. Everybody among the average and well to do families do not want to miss the opportunities and in this process some among us fall behind and fail to come of age with the advanced parameters now prevailing in society. This, of course, is natural process and some in India desperately fall in this category. In our country the Younger generation watching the developments all around do not want to lag behind and jump to catch the opportunities whatever fall in their way like accepting the jobs in foreign countries, tempted with higher perks they are offered, and never hesitate to leave their home states. I appreciate the people who encourage to serve their own country in whatever way they do by using their capabilities, in a way contributing for the development of our nation. On the other hand some parents , feeling the changing atmosphere around and oppressed to be dominated with the impression of insecurity in the society , also feel pulled up to throw their children in the speeding race willingly or unwillingly. There are numerous examples where one see the wards who failed in achieving technical degrees or medical courses, after getting (depriving genuine ones ) paid seats and then compromised with their flourishing parental business ignoring the fact that in that way they could have become job providers. The other category which clear their courses , by hook or crook, get their jobs in government or private sector contribute towards the reduced quality of work, may it be medical, Engineering or administrative side. This type of race is pushing our society towards tug of war for getting salaried jobs which they feel is an independent ( from parents ) way of making money depriving their own talents. The scenario has recently been filmed in a block buster “3 idiots” which showed the general mind set of students and their parents.
This particular class, appearing in the society due to such competitions, what I feel is damaging our society. And the result is evident from the increased number of causalities due to unattended or maltreated patients in hospitals and happenings like collapsing of roads, bridges and building infrastructures in Government sector and growing number of corruption cases in engineering, medicines rather in every field. In the process nobody is bothered to think seriously regarding this downward trend until and unless shoe pinches themselves and make them to feel such failure to take timely decisions in the matters of public interests. Outstanding performances and results are not ruled out in every field but a class coming up in this race is damaging general concept in the society. Recent causalities in a UP hospital where more than 60 children died in a span of 3 days is a shameful instance for our country. Such incidents are very common in other parts of the country. Although every effort is being made to provide enhanced medical aid at every step by the government but the mindset of the working staff , who might have faced some difficulties like paying perks to get berth for their training etc. is bound to change in case we want to see India progressing. Regarding other sections in the society, newspapers are full of scams reported in every field these days and even the standards are decreasing in education institutes so much so that a matric pass student is unable to write an ordinary application or solve three or four digit mathematical questions. Media has exposed many such instances where students even topped the merit list in exams. Coming to mind set of the certain category of generation, the youth want to achieve everything without any hard work which is required to upkeep their knowledge in schools and colleges . This , in other words means that they are forgetting and making an example to forget the basic principles of “Hard work always pays , and honesty is the best policy”. And this degeneration coming up in society is all due to day by day increasing lust for money leading to decreasing standards which the parents and the teachers used to impart to students in their childhood, say 30-40 years ago. The other factor is dissatisfaction among the masses which is on the increase in the society and compelling the youth as well as their parents to adopt such a thinking.
Modi or no Modi factor, this is affecting all these categories when we fail to take timely decisions in the matters of public interests. In spite of many efforts taken by him in good faith the factor of corruption is not on the decline in the service sector in spite of the fact that no involvement of any high-ups has been reported as compared to UPA Government when lacs of crores of rupees were reported as mishandled in many cases. Now when Parents want their children to live in a better world than the one they grew up in, It is of course a very serious question. When today’s children in your country are of age how will they be doing financially compared to where you are right now? Would you say better, worse, or about the same?
