KATHUA, Nov 21: An Octogenarian man was killed after hit by a speeding truck at Hatli Morh on Jammu -Pathankote National Highway this evening.
He has been identified as Nidya Nand S/o Bhagat Ram of Govindsar Kathua. He was 83. The poor fellow was crossing the road when the speeding truck hit him. The driver of truck fled along with vehicle after the accident.
The injured person was rushed to District Hospital Kathua in a serious condition where he succumbed to his injuries.
The body will be handed over to his relatives tomorrow after postmortem. The Hatli Morh Police Post has registered a case and started man hunt for truck and driver.
