While addressing a number of rallies at Nowshera, Poonch, Surankot, various leaders said that hatred is being spread in the society. As far as hatred is concerned it is not spread by the saying of anyone. It is spread by not doing the work of the people. Demands of the masses are to be taken seriously and sincere efforts should be made to solve the problems. Don’t make false commitments. People become annoyed and angry.
In the year 2007, a High Power Committee was constituted to solve the problems of OBC and scheduled castes and tribes. The problems of scheduled castes and tribes were solved, where as OBC issues were not solved. The issue was enhancement of reservation to OBCs of Jammu and Kashmir. OBC are getting only 2 percent Reservation in Educational Institutions and in Govt. Services. No political reservation for OBCs. No Reservation in University admission and in posts, right from Class IV to Gazetted cadre. Not a single MLA from the Congress party raised the issue of OBC Reservation in the one month-long Assembly session.
Now Congress Party is asking for votes from the major vote bank of OBC. OBCs are fifty percent.
There is also no good opinion as far as the achievements and functioning of the OBC Advisory Board is concerned. People had lot of high hopes, during its formation five years ago. It has not come up to the expectation of the people. It is a Fake Board. Board did nothing to the development and improvement of OBC Communities.
OBC means 26 communities of the State. They are getting only two percent reservation, where as RBA is getting 20 percent reservation. There is no equilibrium in this distribution.
As an interm relief 10 percent reservation to OBC should be enhanced very soon.
Issues of OBC developments and OBC welfare schemes should be given priority as the communities have totally been left behind in getting the Govt. jobs Class IV Govt. jobs are beyond their reach, as there is no reservation and present roaster needs Revision.
OBC students like scheduled castes and scheduled tribes students should be given coaching in KAS and other competitive exams. Fee for applying for the various posts should be at par with scheduled castes and scheduled tribes students. Political parties should give preference to OBC in their manifestoes.
