KATHUA, Sept 10: The mass awakening programme of Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) for participation of local youth in social, economic and National development, concluded here today.
BJP State general secretary and MLA Kathua, Rajiv Jasrotia was the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, Jasrotia wished best of luck for success of Punarjagran Abhiyan and expressed hope that public in remote area would be benefitted by the Programmes.
Highlighting on the objective of Swachh Bharat Mission, Jasrotia said cleanliness is not only about cleaning of surroundings, but it’s also about having clean mind and thoughts. Encouraging the students to have questioning mind, Jasrotia encouraged students not to hesitate in seeking answers to clear themselves of misinformation or ignorance.
Speaking on cleanliness, he encouraged the students to volunteer in keeping their surroundings clean. “If you come across dirt in your classrooms or school compound, be the first to pick that dirt. With this attitude, you will learn to know your responsibilities,” he said.
During ‘Punarjagran’ programmes, the public was awared and educated by DYC and NYC Volunteers about the National Flagship Programme viz. Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Swachh Bharat Mission, Beti Bachao – Beti Padhao, Practice & Promote Good Governance, Skill Development, Motivation for and facilitate construction of Toilets under Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan, organizing Sharam Dhan etc.
Sarpanch, Panchayats from different areas present on the occasion urged the public to be united and form Mahila Mandals and Youth Clubs for social awareness and development.
