JAMMU, Mar 13: Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Jammu under Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, organised an outdoor tour for 275 youth drawn from various States to various places in and around Jammu to make them familiar with tourist spots and industrial units of Jammu.
The tour began with a visit to Priya Gold Unit at Bari Brahmana , Samba, which was followed by a brief visit to Balidhan Sitambh, where youth got on-the-spot knowledge about he sacrifices of the freedom fighters.
After taking lunch at Youth Hostel Nagrota, all proceeded to Surinsar to see lake view where they spent time with the fishes in the lake and enjoyed the beauty of the same.
Cultural programmes all along in the way in different dialects remained as entertainment attraction .
The participants also talked to local people and learnt Dogri language and culture.
SS Kashav, Deputy Director, NYK accompanied the visiting participants and shared his experience with the participants, while Rampaul Sharma, ACT, Ramesh Chander and Priyanka also accompanied the participants.
However, Rampaul Dogra, social activist and media in-charge of NYK threw light on various things about the rich and varied culture of J&K State.
A dance competition was also organized on the occasion, which was liked by one and all.
