JAMMU, Feb 3: National Youth Corps (NYC) Association continued their protest outside BJP Headquarter Trikuta Nagar, demanding regularization of their services as well as salary enhancement, here today.
The protestors were chanting slogans in favour of their demands. The protest was organized under the leadership of Association president, Asif Ali Bhat.
Addressing the protesters, president Asif said that nearly 5000 NYC youth were working in different departments like education, rural development, health, social welfare, tourism, revenue and youth services and sports and getting Rs 2500 per month since their appointment in different departments, which is unjustified.
“The BJP leadership of Union Territory assured us to discuss the matter with the Central Government and LG administration and to resolve the issue as soon as possible but unfortunately no assurance has come from the Government side so far,” Asif said.
Although the Government had constituted a committee under the leadership of Chief Secretary to settle the issue of the NYC youth in the year February 2020, but after lapse of sufficient time, the committee failed to deliver a onetime solution for the youth working in different departments so far.
The protestors appealed to the administration to come up with one time solution, so that NYC youth can lead a dignified life with their family members.
