Nursing student from Sopore found dead in Chandigarh

BARAMULLA, June 27: Large number of people hit the streets at Bomai, Sopore, in this north Kashmir district demanding proper inquiry into the death of a B.Sc Nursing student who was found dead in Chandigarh during the intervening night of June 25 and 26.
The family members of Amir Hassan Mir alleged that it was murder and they sought justice.
According to father of Amir, he received a call on June 25 that his son was critically ill. However, he said when they reached the apartment of Amir’s colleague, he found his son dead.
“We demand inquiry and his friends and colleagues should also be questioned about Amir’s death,” he said.
“We seek justice,” he said, adding Amir never complained about his ill health to family.
Meanwhile, large number of people carrying the body of Amir on Sunday for burial raised slogans, seeking proper inquiry by the Chandigarh administration into his death.
