Nuisance of stray dogs

Sir,
I would like to highlight the nuisance of stray dogs prevailing in the City of Temples. As per an estimate, there are about 40,000 stray dogs in Jammu city that  are prowling for food freely on the city roads, streets and lanes causing a great nuisance in the area. It is very difficult for school going children, ladies and elderly people to move or walk on the roads and streets especially in the morning and late hours in the evening for fear of dogs.
It is the duty and responsibility of the Municipal authority to control and contain the stray dogs in Municipal limits. Merely sterilization of stray dogs is not enough. Other preventive measures should be taken including prophylactic treatment of pet and stray dogs. With Anti-rabies vaccine is obligatory. All the dogs should be immunised by regular course of anti-rabies vaccine.
The Government should take certain measure to contain the menace of stray dogs.
Hope, the Municipal authorities would not let their citizens down in this respect.
Yours etc…
