JAMMU, May 15: National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) Jammu Kashmir unit today staged a strong protest against the recurring NEET paper leaks.
The protestors assembled near the Jammu University main gate and marched through key areas, holding placards and raising voices against what they termed “institutional failure and betrayal of student aspirations.”

The protestors raised slogans demanding the immediate dissolution of the National Testing Agency (NTA) and the resignation of the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan for failing to safeguard the sanctity of the country’s premier medical entrance examination. They also torched an effigy of the Education Minister.
NSUI State President Ajay Lakhotra led the demonstration and sharply criticized the Central Government for its apathetic attitude towards student concerns. “70 examination papers have been leaked so far, yet there is no concrete action from the Government. This has become a recurring pattern now. The NTA has lost all credibility and must be dissolved immediately,” Lakhotra said.
He further highlighted the emotional and academic trauma faced by aspirants and their families. “NEET is not merely an examination; it is the cherished dream of lakhs of students and their families who aspire to serve the nation as doctors. This Government’s casual approach is allowing scammers and mafia elements to play with the dreams and emotions of our youth. The future of meritorious students is being ruined due to systemic failures and leaks,” he added.
The NSUI leader warned that if immediate steps are not taken, the student community will intensify its agitation across Jammu and Kashmir. He demanded a time-bound, transparent investigation into all leaks, stringent punishment for those involved, and a complete overhaul of the examination system to restore students’ faith.
Prominent among those who joined the protest were Jai Sidh Bhalla, Adnan, Ali Choudhary, Sparsh Kumar, Kulvir Rajput, Rishi and several other NSUI activists and student leaders.
