JAMMU, Mar 28: Demanding revocation of  SRO-202, NSUI activists  held a strong protest demonstration against the State Government, here today.
Raising slogans in support of their demand and also against the PDP-BJP Coalition Government,  the protesting NSUI activists took out a march from GGM Science College. However, they were stopped by Police from proceeding further.
The protesters were also addressed by some NSUI leaders, who lambasted the Coalition Government for implementing  so called  “fast track recruitment”  policy,  which is totally  against the aspirants of non gazetted  State Government job.
Protest was led by Raqeeq Ahmed Khan, NSUI State president, who alleged that the said policy under SRO-202 was anti-youth  and must be revoked. He warned that if the Government does not revoke the said policy, NSUI would launch a massive agitation all over the State.
Raqeeq Khan listed  drawbacks of the policy, which says that salary of non gazetted employee will be maximum upto Rs 9000/month,  which is not justified if the employee has to support his/her family   at this basic salary.  “No allowance  as well as  time bound  service benefits are being  given to the employee for first five years of their service under the policy, which must be revoked,” he added.
The other senior State and district office bearers of NSUI,  who joined the protest, included  Umar Wani, Chandar Kant,  Shahid Ayoob, Rahul Bhagat,  Arvind Sharma, Anuj Manhas, Satish Rajpoot, Momin Malik, Waseem and Akshay .
