JAMMU, Feb 20: The activists of National Student Union of India (NSUI) led by J&K UT president Sunny Parihar held protest demonstration against fuel price hike. The students burnt the effigy of the BJP Govt and shouted slogans demanding roll back on the prices of diesel, petrol and cooking gas.
Parihar while speaking on the occasion lambasted BJP Govt for its utter failure to control the prices of petrol and diesel besides LPG. He said common man has been left to badly suffer under such circumstances. He said both fuel prices hit fresh record high on Monday, February 15, 2021.
He alleged that wrong decisions the BJP Government like the demonetization, implementation of GST and the abrupt lockdown have already impacted the pockets of the citizens. Lockdown cost around 120 million people to lose their jobs.
Sunny said with increase in fuel price, transportation cost will ultimately increase which in result will affect every sector of the country. One of the major inputs of agricultural activities is diesel. Cost of cultivation will increase by a sharp hike in the price of diesel.
Senior NSUI members – Mohit Singh Sen, Sourab Verma and Yaseer Rashid also spoke on the occasion.
