JAMMU, Apr 28: National Secular Forum (NSF) continued protest and flayed Jammu Kashmir Public Service Commission for continuously ignoring educated Jammu youth in selection for jobs.
Addressing the protesting NSF activists here today, State president of NSF, Dr Vikas Sharma, reiterated that separate Statehood to Jammu was the only way out to end 67 years long discrimination with the people of Jammu region.
Vikas Sharma drew attention towards recent selection list of 10 + 2 Lecturers. “Out of total 62 posts of lecturer in Zoology, 44 candidates have been selected from Kashmir and 18 candidates from Jammu while in the RBA category, out of total 23 posts, 18 candidates are from Kashmir province and only 5 are from Jammu,” he said.
Similarly, he added, out of total 62 posts of 10+2 Lecturer in Physics, 42 candidates have been selected from Kashmir and 20 from Jammu. In the RBA category out of total 21 posts, 16 candidates are from Kashmir province while 5 are from Jammu.
The NSF leader also reminded about the similar discrimination meted out to Jammu region in recent selection of candidates for the posts of Assistant Professors in Higher Education Department.
Dr Vikas Sharma flayed the PDP-BJP coalition Government for meting step-motherly treatment to the people of Jammu. He particularly took to the task BJP MLAs for maintaining stoic silence on the issue and reiterated demand for statehood to Jammu. He alleged that people of Jammu were facing worst kind of discrimination at the hands of Kashmiri rulers and asked them to get united to launch a comprehensible struggle to get rid of all the ills.
