JAMMU, Aug 9: Stepping up its campaign against illegal settlement of Rohingyas and Bangladeshi immigrants in Jammu, National Secular Forum today staged a strong protest demonstration against the Government allegedly facilitating power supply to these unauthorized settlements.
A number of  NSF activists, led by Dr Vikas Sharma, took part in the protest demonstration and amidst rising of slogans, they also torched an effigy of the Rohingyas, Bangladeshis in the State.
Addressing the  gathering,  Dr Vikas Sharma said, “The illegal immigrants have been provided with the electricity connections whereas the genuine State subjects of the State are being made to run from pillar to post to get connection. It speaks volume about the larger plan to settle the illegal immigrants in Jammu wherein the people sitting at the helm of affairs facilitating the same at the instance of their political bosses.”.
He divulged that in the recent development a group of Rohingyas and Bangladeshis had reportedly managed to buy land on the outskirts of Jammu city besides raising construction on JDA lands by procuring PRCs, Aadhar cards and Ration cards pointing towards a larger conspiracy behind their settlement in Dogra land.
Questioning the criminal silence of BJP leaders over this issue, the NSF president  said that when BJP was out of power its leaders were vociferous for the cause of Jammu people but after coming to power they too have sided with the Kashmir bosses and couldn’t muster courage to oppose the illegal settlements in Jammu.
