JAMMU, Jan 7: NSF Bajaj today launched the Bajaj Pulsar P150 here in presence of customers, financers, mechanics and authorised service dealers.
As per a statement, the new Pulsar P150 is based on the next-gen Pulsar platform. The bike now features a sharper, sportier design and an underbelly exhaust. The single-disc variant offers an upright riding position, while the twin-disc variant has a sportier stance and comes with a split seat.
“The Pulsar P150 is powered by an air-cooled, 149cc single-cylinder engine good for 14.5hp at 8,500rpm and 13.5Nm at 6,000rpm that comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. This engine is not the most advanced unit around, employing 2-valve architecture and even featuring a kick-starter,” read a press statement.
It said that the fuel tank capacity of the new bike is 14 litres and fully fuelled up, the P150 weighs 140kg, which variant-for-variant is 10kg lighter than current Pulsar 150. Seat height stands at an accessible 790mm and the ground clearance is 165mm.
“Suspension duties are taken care of by a 31mm telescopic fork and a monoshock (a step up from the twin shock absorbers on the current Pulsar 150). Braking duties are handled by a 260mm front disc and a 230mm disc at the rear (which changes to a 130mm drum on the single disc variant), complemented by single-channel ABS,” read the press statement.
Sunil Raina, GM Sales NSF BAJAJ said: “With the launch of the all-new Pulsar P150, we have again raised the performance bar! The P150s are a great addition to the new Pulsar platform, which has already seen the launch of the 250s and the dual-channel-ABS-fitted N160. Engineering and design excellence combined with an intimate knowledge of the customer have shaped the Pulsar P150, which is sure to delight its vast customer base.”
“A full-LED projector headlight is on offer here, flanked by LED Daytime Running Lamps as well as an LED tail-lamp. Another useful feature is the presence of a USB charging port,” he said.
The Pulsar P150, in single disc form is priced at Rs 1,16,947, while the dual disc variant is priced at Rs 1,19,949 ( prices ex-showroom, Jammu ). It is offered in five colours, which are common to both variants.
