JAMMU, May 10: Renow-ned classical dancer of the State, Nrityashree Deepak Dutta, has made the State proud by receiving Shrishti Sharda Sammaan (Shrishti Young Achievers Award) at Shrishti World Festival of Dance, Drama and Music at Kannada Sahitya Parishad, Bangalore.
The festival was organized by Shrishti Institute of Performing Arts & Dance Therapy (a unit of Shrishti Trust, Bangalore) under the patronship of Girish Karnad (legendary actor, producer and director, Indian film industry). The event started on April 29 to mark ‘World Dance Day” and concluded on May 8.
Son of Shashi and Vinod Dutta, Deepak Dutta represented J&K as only Kathak performer in the event. He performed on “Mohae Rang Do Laal” (choreographed by Pt Birju Maharaj) which is highly appreciated by guests and other dignitaries.
The award was presented to Nrityashree Deepak Dutta by Dr Veena Murthi Vijay (Kuchhipudi Performer from Karnataka), Dr Sathyanarayan (Bharatnatyam Performer from Bengaluru), Saipriya Yalanki (Oddessy Performer from Mumbai) and Geeta Kapoor (Bollywood Choreographer).
