JAMMU, Nov 13: A delegation of NRHM Employees Welfare Association, Jammu met with the newly appointed Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, JP Nadda at New Delhi and highlighted their grievances.
The delegation led by Dr Rakesh Kotwal apprised the Minister of various problems being faced by NRHM employees of J&K and sought his intervention regarding regularization of NRHM employees as most of NRHM employees have completed seven years of continuous service.
The delegation told the Minister that a Parliamentary Standing Committee of Health and Family Welfare has already observed and expressed deep concern regarding contractualism adopted in case of NRHM staff.
Meanwhile, the delegation requested the Minister to implement the short term measures regarding the redressal of day to day grievances of NRHM employees such as bringing of paramedical and programme management staff under the ambit of NRHM incentives, release of funds for hard area incentive disbursal for MOs from April 2014 onwards, provision of 6 months maternity leave to female employees and one month earned leave in favour of all NRHM employees, provision of a fair transfer policy and disbursal of salary of NRHM employees on monthly basis.
The Minister assured the delegation that he would look into the grievances of NRHM employees and take appropriate steps to redress their issues.
