JAMMU, July 23: Protesting for AIIMS in Jammu, activists of National Panthers Students Union (NPSU) today held a demonstration outside Jammu University campus and torched effigies of BJP MLAs for their alleged betrayal on the issue.
The protesting NPSU activists raised slogans against the BJP and accused its Ministers of back tracking on written assurance made by them last month for an official announcement to establish AIIMS in Jammu by July 20.
Holding the BJP responsible for once again resorting to play foul with the gullible people of Jammu region, NPSU leader Thakur Virender Singh said that all the 26 MLAs of BJP were nothing but the puppets who were being maneuvered by its coalition partner PDP. The entire BJP clan has totally surrendered on the Jammu based issues before the Kashmiri leaders only to indulge in the honeymoon with their ministerial berths in the unholy alliance, he alleged.
The protest demonstration was also addressed by S Mohinder Pal Singh Pandu, Anoop Singh, Rahul Roy, Rishi Badyal, Shubam Jasrotia, Sourav, Sumit Singh, Nidhi Singh, Asha Rani and Neha Thakur.
