JAMMU, Aug 27: National Panthers Party (NPP) is taking out `Comunal Harmony Yatra’ from Jammu to Kishtwar to spread the message of peace and brotherhood.
Talking to media-persons here today, State president of  the party Balwant Singh Mankotia said that chief patron of the party Prof Bhim Singh will lead this Rashtriya Chetna Abhiyan to spread the message of peace and communal harmony and all the Legislators of the party besides other activists and people from all the communities will participate.
Mr Mankotia disclosed that Yatra would start from Press Club of Jammu near Old Tawi Bridge on August 29.  The Yatra passing through  Udhampur,  Chenani, Kud, Batote, Assar, Doda and Thathri would reach Kishtwar. In the troubled Kishtwar town, the Communal Harmony yatra will be taken out in all the markets and localities  and it will finally culminate into a public rally.  Prof Buhim Singh would deliver the message of peace and brotherhood among the masses there.
Describing the Kishtwar violence as unfortunate,  the NPP MLA said that it could have been averted if the Administration had taken prompt measures. He alleged that not only former MOS Home Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo but the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also is equally responsible. Infact, Chief Minister should own the responsibility. He said the Kishtwar is the place where three cultures meet which included Kashmiri, Dogri and Ladakhi. Efforts should be made to strengthen these old age cultural ties, he maintained.
