UDHAMPUR, July 27: Carrying forward the “Fight for Jammu” mission and ‘Jail Bharo Andolan’, Panthers Party activists led by Balwant Singh Mankotia, State President JKNPP along with several other leaders took out an emphatic protest rally here against the cowardly surrender of the Saffron Party before the Kashmiri leaders over the establishment of Rs 1600 crores premier hospital of AIIMS in the Jammu region.
The protestors in the shape of a rally started from Baba Mahadev Temple which after passing through several bazaars and lanes finally culminated at Dak Bungalow.
Addressing the gathering Balwant Singh Mankotia said that the Saffron Party has been exposed for its treacherous and perfidious character which blatantly back tracked on its written assurance on the official announcement of establishing AIIMS in Jammu by the declared deadline of July 20 and despicably betrayed the gullible people of Jammu Pradesh.
He maintained that the BJP has made obnoxious mockery of the aspirations and mandate of the Jammu electorate which overwhelmingly voted them to power.
Mankotia while holding the Saffron brigade responsible for once again resorting to play foul with the people of Jammu region maintained that the Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh including other 25 MLAs of the BJP are nothing but the mute puppets who are being controlled by its coalition partner PDP.
Later, the police arrested over two hundred protestors including Balwant Singh Mankotia and detained them in the District Police Lines for a day and later released in the evening.
Mankotia while offering court arrest vociferously demanded the resignation of all the BJP MLAs including Dr Nirmal Singh without any delay for inflicting a lethal dent on the pride and honour of the Dogras.
The leaders who were arrested included Balwan Singh, Bashir Mohammad, Surjit Singh Sarpanch, Gandharb Singh, Parveen Singh, etc.
