JAMMU, July 22: National Panthers Party (NPP) today staged a protest outside Directorate of Health Service Jammu, demanding action against the health employees indulging in malpractices.
Hundreds of NPP activists led by Thakur Virender Singh, Ravinder Jamwal, Anil Rakwal and Kailash Mohan assembled in front of Directorate of Health Services and raised slogans against the administration.
NPP leaders pointed out that it has been reported from various Panchayats all across the Jammu Division that there are scores of employees working in Health Department and posted at respective sub-centers who remain absent from their respective places of duty and operate from their homes.  Moreover, they demand fees for attending to the patients and often recover the cost of medicines from them on the pretext of the argument that they do not have free medicines for public distribution.
Joint Director Health Services sensing the serious situation arising outside the office of the Director Health Services intervened and gave a patient hearing to the protestors, who later submitted a detailed memorandum to the concerned officer exhorting him to immediately take stern action against the culprits for their misdeeds and malpractice.
