JAMMU, Sept 28: The activists and leaders of JKNPP today held strong protest demonstration against the BJP-PDP Govt in the State for its alleged failure to uphold rule of law in the State.
A large number of Panthers Party activists spearheaded by Harshdev Singh chairman JKNPP, Balwant Singh Mankotia State president and Yashpal Kundal, State president Young Panthers along with other leaders staged a massive protest demonstration at Exhibition Ground here today. The incensed protestors raised the slogans of ‘Daman ki Rajneeti…Nahin Chalegi,…Nahin Chalegi’, ‘Rashtra-Virodhi Logon Ko…Giraftar Karo, …Giraftar Karo’, ‘Kashmir Mein Gou Hatyaron Ko…Giraftar Karo, Giraftar Karo’ ‘High Court Ka Order…Lagu  Karo, Lagu Karo’ ‘BJP… Kursi Shodho, Kursi Shodho’ and ‘BJP…Hai,Hai’.
Lambasting the BJP-PDP coalition for making a mockery of the governance in the State, Harshdev Singh dubbed the Sate Government’s decision to impose carpet ban on the internet services during the festival of Eid in the State as arbitrary and obnoxious move to conceal its wrong doings and transgressions. He said that the aforesaid ban only corroborated the fact that the present Government is incapable of curbing the anti-national elements and the offenders of the law in Kashmir as the felons brazenly flouted the High Court’s orders on beef ban, waved Pakistan and ISIS flags and spewed venom to incite sedition.
The NPP leader recalled that the BJP-PDP had earlier resorted to the policy of suppression following the shameful jiggery-pokery over the AIIMS issue and said that it had only made the situation worse for the Saffron party by aggravating the peaceful agitation into a violent civil furore. Expressing his indignation over the State Government’s tactics of repression and coercion, the former Education Minister said that the sinister incidents have divested the people of their fundamental right to freedom of speech and expression guaranteed to them in the Constitution of India, which shall only aggravate their outrage against the Government’s tyranny.
Balwant Singh Mankotia and Yashpal Kundal also addressed the gathering. They sought an immediate arrest and detention of the culprits involved in the bovine slaughtering besides the anti-national elements unfurling Pak and ISIS flags during Eid in Kashmir. While suspecting a criminal silence of the BJP on the sensitive issue, the leaders exhorted the State Government to implement the directions of the High Court of J&K on beef ban in letter and spirit.
