NPP declares movement for statehood to J&K

JAMMU, July 1: The J&K National Panthers Party leadership has given a call to its cadre and all J&K residents in particular to join massive movement for the restoration of statehood to the Jammu and Kashmir.
Prof Bhim Singh, chief patron of JKNPP contacted several senior leaders of other state and national political parties and invited them all to join and stand together in defence of the civil and political rights of the Permanent residents of Jammu and Kashmir.
Singh talked to NC president Dr Farooq Abdullah and other leaders in Kashmir from other political parties. He conveyed the message of solidarity with leadership of different political parties and social activists in J&K. He said that the people of J&K have two urgent issues. First is to settle the issue with Prime Minister Modi Government in Delhi, regarding the immediate need to restore statehood of Jammu and Kashmir which was founded by Maharaja Gulab Singh in 1846. The statehood could not have been demolished as it was Maharaja Hari Singh who in 1927 issued a Royal Declaration introducing ‘State Subject’ (Permanent Residents’ Status) to all the State Subjects of Jammu and Kashmir.
The second issue is to preserve constitutional guarantee providing Permanent Residents’ status to every citizen of India who was born in Jammu and Kashmir. This is shocking that Govt of India has deprived the Permanent residents of their rights which were guaranteed to them. Another tragedy with the Permanent residents of J&K is that Govt of India under President’s Rule has deprived this basic right to the Permanent residents of J&K that they have exclusive rights to hold immovable property including land in J&K as exclusive right. The outsiders who are not Permanent residents like visitors/employees from outside J&K have no right vested in them to purchase or own any land/immovable property in J&K. This is the tragedy that the BJP Govt has introduced this new Law through an Ordinance which could not have been done within the command of Maharaja’s Royal Decree issued in 1927 and the command of Constitution of India.
