RAMBAN, July 18: A notorious thief has been detained under stringent Public Safety Act (PSA).
As per police sources, a person namely Mudassir Ahmed Mir, son of Shamasdin of Failty Maitra District Ramban has been detained under Public Safety Act (PSA) by the order of District Magistrate, Ramban.
The accused is a notorious thief and had become an imminent threat for the people of the society. Nine theft cases were found to be registered against him in Police Station Ramban.
It is pertinent to mention here that he is also a history sheeter in the records of Police Station Ramban.
The accused was a notorious criminal and was spoiling young generation in the jurisdiction of District Ramban by instigating people, especially the youth to do anti-social activities.
After assessing his incorrigible behaviour and consistent involvement in criminal cases, a record in the shape of dossier was prepared by District Police Ramban and detention warrant under PSA was issued by District Magistrate Ramban, which was executed by Ramban Police against Mudassir Mir. He was detained under section 8 of Public Safety Act (PSA) in Central Jail at Kot Bhalwal in District Jammu.
The overall process of detention was made successful under the command of SHO Ramban Inspector Sandeep Charak under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Ramban Pardeep Singh Sen and SP Ramban Mohita Sharma.
