JAMMU, Feb 11: A notorious drug peddler was booked under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT NDPS) Act in Akhnoor area here today.
Razak Ahmed alias Kaka of Kandi, Tehsil Maira Mandrian, District Jammu, was wanted in several NDPS cases registered against him at Police Station Akhnoor, a police spokesperson said.
“An arrest warrant under PIT NDPS Act was also issued against him by the Divisional Commissioner Jammu,” he said.
Acting on specific information about the presence of the accused in the area falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Akhnoor, the police spokesperson said that a team of police led by SHO Akhnoor, Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor, Mohan Lal Sharma, raided the suspected place today and arrested the accused.
He has been sent to District Jail Kathua, added the police spokesperson.
