JAMMU, Oct 30: A notorious drug peddler was arrested under the PIT NDPS Act in Akhnoor area here today, officials said.
They said information was received at Police Station Akhnoor through reliable sources regarding one Ghar Singh alias Gharu son of Rattan Singh of Thatti, Tehsil Bhalwal, District Jammu, who was wanted in several cases of drug peddling.
On this, a special team of Akhnoor Police Station led by SDPO Akhnoor, Mohan Lal Sharma, assisted by SHO Akhnoor, Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq, raided the suspected place, arrested the accused drug peddler and shifted him to District Jail Kathua, said officials.
Pertinently, the arrest warrant against the accused was issued by Divisional Commissioner Jammu, which got executed today with the arrest of the accused under the PIT NDPS Act.
