JAMMU, Aug 19: Akhnoor Police today booked a notorious criminal under PIT NDPS Act.
Acting on information received through reliable sources regarding one notorious drug peddler namely Anil Singh alias Furtila son of Madan Singh resident of Hamirpur, Khour (at present living in Koudeywala area of Akhnoor), a special team of Police Station Akhnoor led by SDPO Akhnoor Mohan Sharma assisted by SHO Police Station Akhnoor Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq raided the suspected place and arrested the drug peddler.
It is pertinent to mention here that the accused person was a notorious criminal and was involved in many cases of drug peddling and dealing in narcotics. Also a warrant of arrest was issued against the accused by Divisional Commissioner Jammu.
Finally, today in compliance to the directions of Divisional Commissioner Jammu, under Prevention of Illicit Traffic of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act of 1988 (PIT NDPS), the detention warrant was executed and the accused was sent to District Jail Amphalla Jammu after completing all the legal formalities.
