Notorious bovines’ smuggler booked under PSA

RAMBAN, Mar 30: District Police Ramban booked a notorious bovines’ smuggler under stringent Public Safety Act (PSA) and lodged him in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal district Jammu.
As per police sources, District Police Ramban has booked and detained one notorious bovines smuggler under the J&K Public Safety Act (PSA) 1978 for his involvement in criminal activities. His detention order was issued by the District Magistrate Ramban.
The accused namely Bashir Ahmad, son of Sher Mohammad of Parnote District Ramban was booked for his criminal activities in the area for which a number of cases had been registered against him in Police Stations Banihal and Batote. He had become a threat to the peaceful atmosphere and was posing great danger to the public peace and tranquillity thereby forcing authorities to detain him under J&K Public Safety Act.
Keeping in view of his repeated involvement in criminal/bovines smuggling activities, the dossier was prepared by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Ramban Mohita Sharma and forwarded to District Magistrate Ramban who formally issued the orders of his detention under J&K Public Safety Act.
The detention warrant was executed and the accused Bashir Ahmad was lodged in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal in District Jammu.
