Notices served to food courts in Wave Mall, JKTDC

JAMMU, Jan 24: A food safety team conducted checking of kitchens of food handlers at Wave Mall, Jammu Club and JKTDC and served showcause notice to those, who have not followed the norms of Food Safety and Standards Act (FSSA).
A food safety team led by Dr Parvesh Kumar, Assistant Commissioner, Food Safety Jammu inspected the kitchens of all food courts of Wave Mall, Jammu Club and JKTDC and observed poor hygiene conditions there.
The team served showcause notice to those, who have not followed the norms of FSSA or were working without licences. The team also served two week time to maintain all the norms as per FSSA and warned of action if failed.
The food safety team also inspected the kitchens in Amar Singh Club and Circuit House and asked the managements to improve the working culture in their kitchens in two week time otherwise action will be taken against them.
Earlier, the food safety team organized a training camp at ‘Rehri Zone’, Last Morh Gandhi Nagar, in which over 150 food handlers participated.
Dr Parvesh Kumar was assisted by Food Safety Officers Ajay Khajuria, Daleep Singh, Jai Inder, and Hans Raj.
The participants were asked to maintain personal and food hygiene. They were informed that the waste material should be thrown in dustbins and not in open so as to realize the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Swachh Bharat” Mission.
Dr Parvesh Kumar asked the participants not to serve the cuisines prepared by them to people consuming alcohol near their kiosks and also asked them to get their licences registered and renewed as soon as possible.
He also served two week time to the participants to maintain the FSSA norms otherwise strict action will be initiated against them.
