JAMMU, June 6: Excise Commissionerate has issued show cause notice to licensees of 20 liquor vends for gross violation of rules.
As per the notice, the copy of which is available with EXCELSIOR, during the scrutiny of record by the Commissionerate, one license was found initially to have been transferred in gross violation of the Excise Act and Rules by deleting original licensee and operating vend without requisite No Objection Certificates as mandated under the Act.
Further scrutiny has found 19 more such transfers of licenses outside family/legal heirs in gross violation of JKEL-2 individual licenses. Accordingly, the Excise Commissionerate has issued notice to these licensees asking them to show cause and file response within a period of four weeks.
