Why not a Law University?

Sir,
Legal profession regarded as the most coveted and elitist of all professions is somewhere not getting its due attention from  the authorities. Everytime the central and State Goverments are eager to announce establishment of new medical colleges, IITs and allocate funds for making them as institutes of excellence and higher learning. The vision of govt both at the national and state level is limited to the fields of medicine and engineering. There is no denying the fact that the legal education is being ignored and paid negligible attention for making it at par with the national or international standards. It seems to be really painful that why such a step motherly attitude is being shown towards improving the standard of legal education in our State. Lawyers are regarded as social engineers and are the forerunners of law as a dharma(righteousness) which forms the foundation of social order and social solidarity. Thus, we need the best institutes which can impart the best  of legal knowledge to our future generation of lawyers. We need to produce  lawyers and jurists who can have the grit,  determination and intellectual craftsmanship to act as an equilibrist by maintaining the delicate balance between protection of individual rights and adherence to corresponding duties.we certainly need to bring reforms in the legal education sector by giving ample of opportunities to the students desirous of pursuing law as their career so that they are hopeful of a bright future and the institute with good infrastructure as well as the faculty therein are capable enough of imparting legal education and developing legal acumen of a neophyte to the legal galaxy par excellence. Thus, to enhance professional competence and promote highest levels of academic excellence we need a National Law University in our State of j&k so that it truly becomes a knowledge hub with an exemplary attitude towards professional studies as its hallmark.
