SRINAGAR, Dec 18: Reacting to the results of Assembly elections in Gujarat, former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said it has not been a disaster for the Congress and has not been the emphatic victory the BJP wanted.
“I’m done with #Election2017. Gujarat hasn’t been a disaster for the Congress & it hasn’t been the emphatic victory the BJP wanted. Take from it what you will. Over & out!,” Abdullah, who is the working president of National Conference (NC), wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.
Abdullah said after 41 rallies by the PM in Gujarat, anything less than a sweeping victory will be a cause for much concern for the BJP.
“Where in my tweet have I mocked anything. I’ve expressed an opinion with no sarcasm & no mention of “Congress Mukt” much less a mocking one,” Mr Abdullah had tweeted earlier in the day.
“Will be the BJP close above 100? Will @vijayrupanibjp win his seat? Will @DhumalHP lose after the BJP has won? These are the only points of interest for me now,” he had said.
