JAMMU, May 30: Northern Army Commander Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma today visited forward units deployed along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara sector to review the security situation, assess the anti-infiltration grid and evaluate the operational preparedness of troops guarding the frontier.
During the visit, the Army Commander was briefed on the prevailing operational scenario and the measures being taken to maintain effective surveillance and domination along the LoC.
He also witnessed demonstrations of advanced technologies and systems being used in field conditions, including Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) and Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (CUAS), integrated with modern techniques, training and procedures to enhance operational effectiveness.
Lt Gen Sharma appreciated the professionalism, operational readiness and technological adaptability displayed by the troops.
He commended all ranks for their resilience, courage and dedication while operating in a challenging environment.
Emphasising the need to remain prepared for emerging security challenges, the Army Commander called for continuous improvement in battle drills, tactical skills and technological expertise.
He urged the troops to remain vigilant, agile and mission-focused while maintaining a high level of operational preparedness along the LoC.
The visit reaffirmed the Indian Army’s commitment to maintaining a strong security posture along the border and ensuring peace and stability in the region.
