JAMMU, Apr 1: Association of North Zone Cardiothoracic Surgery (ANZCTVS) summer meet was held here today at Jammu.
The meet was organized by the Jammu team of CTVS Surgeons of CTVS Deptt of Super Specialty Hospital, GMC Jammu. Leading Cardiothoracic Surgeons of New Delhi, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Bhatinda actively participated in the meeting along with Cardiothoracic Surgeons of Jammu region.
The Principal and Dean Govt Medical College Jammu, Dr Shashi Sudhan Sharma inaugurated the Scientific session and appreciated the ANZCTVS for holding this meet at Jammu. She emphasized the need for expanding the facilities in Cardiothoracic Surgery Department and providing the best facilities to the patients of this region. She highlighted the need for training and skill enhancement in CTVS.
Present on the occasion were Patron ANZ CTVS, Dr H S Bedi, President Dr S S Rana, Dr Gurjit Singh and Dr Ashwini Suri and senior CTVS Surgeons of Jammu Dr Mukund Lal, Dr Noor Ali and another faculty of CTVS Deptt Dr Mohit Arora, Dr Vivek Gandotra, Dr Javed, Dr Rouf, Dr Romil from NH Katra, Dr Bhumika from Ankur Maltrika and Cardiac Anesthetist Dr Rashmeet, Dr Rahul from AIIMS Bhatinda.
The Scientific Session had a plethora of presentation in the field of the Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery by eminent speakers Dr H S Bedi, Dr Ashwini Suri, Dr Sidharth Garg, Dr Meenakshi Mandal, Dr Shyam Singh and Dr Arvind Kohli.
Later in the evening session on trans Aortic Valvular replacement for surgeons, leading CTVS surgeons from New Delhi Dr Yugal Mishra presented the current perspectives in the field and interactive session was participated by Cardiologist Dr Sushil Sharma and all panelists.
The participants from GMC Jammu were Residents and staff of the CTVS Deptt who got benefitted by the scientific sessions. Dr Ishtiyaq Ahmed Mir presented the vote of thanks.
The Organizing Secretary of the meet, Dr Arvind Kohli emphasized the role of interaction between the CTVS Surgeons of the region that helps in discussion for the patient care, also sharing each other’s expertise in the management of newer techniques for needy patients of the region.
